PG County Schools Hire Inexperienced Teachers

Henry Wise Jr. High School located in Upper Marlboro, Maryland is a new school and fortunate to have a Recording Technology program. New equipment, enthusiastic students and a teacher who doesn't know the first thing about a Recording studio.

Students whom attended the Recording Technology program were pacified with what they deemed a "cool" teacher who let them talk about current events and learning the guitar. Sure, they were occupied and learning but certainly not the intended syllabus. Can you place blame on the teacher who's been hired to teach music? How will the school provide a grade for this course? The coursework was never taught; None of the concepts learned, so what work will be graded? Will all the registered students get an "A" in Recording Technology and is it fair?

To think, one day college recruiters will look at transcripts expecting students to have a foundation in Recording Technology. Nonetheless, principals saddle us with inexperienced teachers while we give accolades for filling vacancies.
